Mr. Frank Jay the gentlemanly superintendent in- { formed the News reporter that it! will probably take about a month to complete the laying of the pipesthrough the city. He has about j*thirty or forty hands now employed in the work. The stand pipe is being erected as fast as possible,! and will be completed by the time ; the mains are laid. The supply of water, Mr. Jay says, is sufficient to Bupply Abilene for all purposes, eren if she gets to be a city of twenty thousand inhabitants. j
