He was taken before the latter official and secured temporary freedom on a bond signed by John O Grady, his attorney, and A, P. Calloway as aunties.Preston manifested considerable tsurprise when Marshal Stewart served the e.apiaa on him lie remarked, however, that he knew the grand j j. jury had been after him lor h lung time, and lie presumed that he was “in for it now,1* This is the first time Preston has been arfented under the uuthonty of a Jackson county indictment, although his disreputable bheet has been in existence more than a year.
