KIVA Blackout Awaits RepairTransmitter failure forced KIVA-TV to remain off the air Tuesday, but station gen* eral manager Michael Clark said broadcasting was ex* pected to be reversed later today or Thursday.The station’s transmitter broke down about 6 a.m. Tuesday, and the station never began broadcasts that morning, he said. Work is in progress to correct amplification problems with the transmitter.“We’re dealing with a transmitter that’s very old,” said Clark, general manager of the station since Monday.Negotiations have begun for a new transmitter, he said, but delivery of the new equipment could be a couple of months away.
