Arrested on a warrant charging fraudulent conversion. Harry J. Col lins, First ward alderman, waived hearing and was held for court late yesterday. His bail of $500 was fur nished by Patsy Costello and Floyd Newman. Mr. Collins was arrested by Con stable Bert Nolan on a warrant is suing from the office of Alderman Fred B. Nicholas upon complaint of Dr. R. W. Jackman who asserted that Mr. Collins had collected some $60 as his agent and that no return was made. Following arrest, Mr. Collins claim ed “constitutional right” to be taken before an alderman of his choosing rather than before Alderman Nich olas, who had instructed Constable Nolan to bring him to his office. At his own request Mr. Collins was taken before Alderman Harry A. Wichensky for arraignment. He waiv ed hearing and was bound over for court under bail.
