One Man Killed and Three In jured in Another “Mysteri ous” Fire That Does $76,000 Damage in “City of Stumps”. CITY BUILDING IS WIPED OUT! Corry, Pa., Jan. 20.—The city building, a three story brick structure, was destroyed by fire here with a loss estimated at between $75,000 and $109,000. While Finson, acting as a volun teer fireman, was fatally over come by smoke. Three other firemen were temporarily over come. In a telephone conversation with the Corry Journal this afternoon it was learned that Fireman Finson died a short time after being ad mitted to the hospital. The three other firemen who were injured were Claude Whelier, Cecil Slagie and Eddie Welsh. The lat ter is at the hospital, but will recov er. The blaze started in the rear of the second floor, and the cause is as gas have been the other in the recent past in that) AH the department heads that are ran in conjunction with the city business have been wiped out. They include the Police Station, Fire De partment, and all the City offices. The K. of P. rooms in one of the upper floors were burned out. Noth ing remains the building but the lcharred walls, the south wall leaving] collapsed when the fire was at its heighth. It could not be learned from the Journal what the loss will be but it was estimated at that time as around$ 375.000.
