Former Resident Dead.The following death is of interest to many here, since the deceased is a brother of E. A. Christman of this city andat one time resided here:* 1Jeremiah Christman was born near Catanning, Pa., April 4, 1841, and died athia home near Waldo, Kan., January 1, 1916, affed 74 years, 8 months and 27 da.vs. In his early childhood he moved with his parents to Franklin Grove, 111., where he lived untill the Civil War. He enlisted August 12, 1862, in Co. G, ^ 75t’n Illinois Infantry and was honorably discharged July 18, 1865. On October 24, 1866, he was united in marriage to Orpha Sturdevant, and to this union ten children were born, seven of whom j are living. In early married life, they I moved to Kansas, where he lived the ; remainder of his life. Uncle Jerry has a war recoid of which any veteran j should have felt proud. He was through \I ' * * Imany of the great campaigns and when discharged from the service his health was shattered. He was crippled the remainder of his life owing to one of his arms being paralyzed. The family moved to their present home in 1881, and took an active part , in all movements which tended to make the community a better place in which to live. He was a good citizen and neighbor, a , kind and indulgent parent and father. ;
