I!RESIDENT HERE SINCE 18*2.Albert Croft* Died Saturday Afternoon, Aged 75 Year*.ix\♦♦♦X♦i♦♦i'W'I*r. w.cThe ble, tl ed Sat Thi one ai ators. of it i: with e4 in itook E waa t! the 8t Invi of thlt;Albert Cross died at his home,corner of Monroe and St.Je*eph streets, Saturday afternoon at 5 o’clock, frotn heart failure.Mr. Cross had been in poor health for some tiuie, but his last illness was of onl) a few days duration.The funeral will be held from his late residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock.Albett Cross was born in New York state December 21, 1820, and was a son of Bev. Enoch Cross.About 1841 the family moVed to Eck-ford, Mich., where the father died.In 1847, Mrs. Cross with her family, consisting of two daughters and five sons, moved to Brady, Kalamazoo county. At this place, in 1851,Mr. Cross was married to Miss Jane Hersen, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Hersen.After their marriage the young couple moved to Pavillion, iu the same county, where Mr. Cross owned a farm. Shortly after, a trip was made west, by wagon, and a short stay made in Benton^ county, Iowa.The family returned in a few mouths to Michigan, and after several years residence again went weat» their locatiou at that time being near I Central City, Kansas.The second return to Michigan was made, and about a year spent af Vicksburg before the family moved here, in 1862.After moving here, Mr. Croas bought a home on Michigau avenue, where they lived until it burned, in ipg 1888, at which time they moved tpfishf^). maiIq March. 1898. A. O’Leary), of Paw Paw, with the widow survive the deceased. Ooe son, Nelson Alden, died January 29, 1878.Mr. Cross was one of the charter members of Neptune lodge No. 297 I. O. O.
