New-York, Jan. 6.The Pirates.—On the 14th ult. the brig Sarah, Capt. Stinchcorub, (arrived here on Saturday, from Jamaica) was plundered off Cape Antonio, b a piratical schooner, end robbed of every thing valuable on board. Capt. S. was ordered ob board the pirate, where he was thrown down into the hold. The pirates who boarded the Sarah, ordered the mate to inform them where the money was concealed, or they would stand in for Cape Antonio, and bum the vessel and crew. Being tcld there was no money on hoard, they broke a sword over his head—huug him up by the neck, and then threw him into the cabin. They then endeavoured to extort information of money on board from the crew, all of whom were severely beaten and bruised, and one of them remains iil of his wounds. Capt. S. after remaining some time in the hold of the pirate, was called on deck, and after assuring them there was no money on board, was hung up by the neck until they supposed him dead, and has severe cuts in his right hand and other places. One of the men had three cutlasses broken over bis back, and was also hung up. Capt. S. has on board the blood stained clothes which he wore at the time he was cut and mangled. On parting with the pirates, they told him they should keep a good look out for the schr. Macdonotigh, Ryan, of and for this port, which was to sail from Montego Bay 10 days after the Sarah. Dec. 19th, lat. 23, 44, Ion. 83, the Sarah spoke the British frigate Nieraan, from Jamaica, bound to Halifax, having under convoy several vessels.A piratical hermaphrodite brig, with 27 of her crew, prize to the British brig of war Scout, arrived at Havana, on the 17th ult.
