Admission at the door will be$.50 with student I.D., and $1.00 general admission.Rick Roberts joined the Bur-nto.s alter their first album and immediately became the dominant force behind them, handling most of the vocal work in addition to writingRick Roberts is one of the most recent graduates of the Los Amgeles School of Country Rock”, whose noted alumni include the Byrds, Poco, Eagles, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. When Chris Hillman and Mike Clarke left the Byrds they formed “The Hying Burrito Brothers” with Chris Ethridge and GramParsons to explore the country and western idiom they » *had laid down on the Byrds’ album “Sweet heart of the Rodeo.” The Burritos were probably the first serious country band in rock and were the first to use the pedal steel guitar to any great extent.most of their material. As the Burritos started to gain the recognition they deserved after second generation country bands like the Riders and Commander Cody began to break, the band broke up from personality conflicts.As the various members of the Burritos went to Mannas-sas and the Eagles it seemed natural for Rick to pursue a solo career. He signed with A M records and after thePhoto by Joe Lewisrelease of his first album, “Windmills,” which included supporting roles from such musicians as David Crosby, The Eagles, Mannassas, and Jackson Browne, Rich has been touring the country doing concerts.The album has been well received and it appears that Rick is- well on his way to joining his fellow “alumni” in getting the recognition he deserves.Friday, January 19, 1 973
