By E. A. Enos. During the Coming Buildinng Season FIVE ON EACH SIDE One of Number To Be Built On Use Old Planing Mill Site—The Others On Vermont Avenue. Friday’s Evening News. E. A. Enos will be one of the first to respond to the demand for more menement houses, to meet the wants of Connersville’s rapidly growing population. He has planned to build during the coming season, ten new tenements for rental purposes. Five of these will occupy the ground used for many years for the once well known Enos saw and planing mills, and will front on t ee street, East Connersville. The old mill building is being dismantled and will soon be only a memory to east siders who once looked upon it with pride, as the chief industry of the town, and in truth it was a busy spot for many years. The other five tenements will be built on Vermont avenue, this city, on ground owned there by Mr Enos, MAY ERECT HALL. There is also a rumor that Mr. Enos wilkso remade a portion of his buildings fronting on Main street and formerly occupied for offices and for the storage of lumber and other building materials, as to convert them into a public hall, of which the east side town stands greatly in nee. A BUILDING YEAR. Not in years has the promise of a rushing building season been as fat tering as it is now. A large number of preliminary contracts for such Work as excavating, foundations and the like are being plated, the idea being to prevent delay in these very necessary fentors of building work, whet the rich begins in the spring. AEE OF MYSTERY, One contractor, who though neat a local resident, was interested in work done here last year, stated, a few days ago, that he had been ask ed to bid on a building to be erected in Connersville during the coming season, that would require several thousand more brick in its construc tion than did the new county infir mary. But the most persistent “pumping” by a News representative, failed to draw from him further par ticulars. Tie said that secrecy has been enjoined on him by the promot ers but that the big structure would be a “sure go.”
