Deckhand Believed to Have Fallen. Into the Sea While Unable to Take Care of Himself Alamitos bay was dragged all day yesterday in search of the body of Harry Lamb, 21 years old, who is sup posed to have been drowned there late Thursday night or early yesterday. Ef forts to locate the drowned man are still in progress, but it seems probable that the searchers must wait until the sea of its own accord gives up its head. Lamb, who was employed as deck hand on one of the dredgers of the At lantic, Gulf and Pacific company, went to his room on the dredger late Thurs day night in what is believed to have been a drunken condition. Yesterday morning he did her report for work and when his room was entered he was not there. His clothing, however, was found scattered about the room. Lamb's bed was disarranged, as if he had slept fitfully for a while. It is sup posed that, while under the influence of liquor, he walked out of his room and fell off the dredger into the deep waters of the bay. It is said that no carousals or dis turbances are allowed to take place upon the Atlantic company's dredgers and that Lamb's disappearance did not follow a quarrel or fight with any other employe. He had little money, if any, and robbery could not have been a motive for any one’s attackng him. Those who knew him well say that the idea of suicide is absurd, “Lamb has no relatives at Alamitos and little is@known of his people or his past. He went to work three months ago. He was born in the state of Texas. He is said to have an uncle, whose name cannot be ascertained, in San Diego.
