D.—Herbert Root, one of the h«wt known residents of thl6 city, died in St. Luke’s hospital in St. Paul, yeste *day morning. He has been prominent for twenty years In business, political and church circles. He had a paper here some years ago, and one ulght his enemies, during a hot political campaign, entered the office and wrecked it, strewing the type and material through the streets.
