The tricks of a “magician” who disappeared from Bellville late in October after collecting about $20 for a Halloween show that wasn't presented had been solved today. Sheriff E. P. Long caught up with the “magician,” who turned out to be Roscoe Kauffman, 42, of ‘Elyria, but the sheriff probably won't take Kauffman into custody until late in February. Kauffman who disappeared from a Wayne county village ‘under the same circumstances is serving a 60-day term in jail at Wooster and he won't be out until next month. Sheriff E. E. Mills of Wayne county said. Kauffman would have been out sooner, but he's serving out $100 five too, Sheriff! Mis add oe. At least four other counties want Kauffman as a result of his disappearing act, but Richland is [next in line, the Wayne county ‘sheriff said. When Kauffman is brought back Mion Goan on re taining money under pre tense, Prosecutor G. W. Marriott asserted. After demonstrating his magic tricks to Bellville merchants last October, Kauffman allegedly col lected nearly $20 to finance a show to keep the boys out of mis chief Halloween night and then left town while a full house of children awaited in the school auditorium.
