MRS. G. W. LESLEYJosie Stovall was born in Couk County. Texas, December 12, 1878. Died at Des Moines, New Mexico, on January 8th, aged 41 years and11*5 days.Miss Stovall’s family moved to Sayre, Oklahoma, in 1902 and there she met (1. \V. Lesley and the romance that began culminated in their marriage on February 8 1908. To this union were born six children all of whom are at home and all of whom are living. They are; May. Mary, Lee, Irene Howard, Edna Ruth.Alter her marriage to Mr. Lesley they moved to Gainesville, Texas and in 1900 they removed from that place to Ouanah Texas, thence to Des Moines in 1910, when they settled on a homestead east ot Des Moine and made that their home until the time of he death. Death was due to liver and bowel trouble.Mrs. Leslie was a member of the Baptist church altho she had not affiliated with the local church. Her •funeral was held at the Baptist church in Des Moines on January 9th, and the house was filled to overflowing. The funeral sermontwas preached by Rev. Geoge W. Gel-vin of Hu; Methodist church. Three grades of the Des Moines schools' •presented flowers for the occasion. 'Mrs. Lesley was a good woman. Sin* was a good wife and mother i and her life had been one of sacri-j fice for her family. From early j ■womanhood she had been pioneering 1 and home-building and with it all 'had time to do kind deeds and prove a good neighbor. She will be missed by the people of this section as well as by her family.The remains were laid to rest in j the Des Moines cemetery. Ashes to•ashes, dust to dust, while the soul ■wings its way thru the countless millions of stars that blossom on the • 'bosom of space.
