R. H. Beckett, the manager of the Bank of British North America has been transferred to Battleford, and is succeeded by S. Hall of North Batteford. Mr. and Mrs. Beckett have endeared themselves to the people there in their short term of service , having taken an interest in the church and social activities. They were enthusiastic tennis players and Mr. Beckett was developing into a good curler. The business interests also appre ciated the services of Mr. Beckett, and all are sorry to see them go, but wish them every success in their new sphere of labor. Reeve Cardale arrived home from Winnipeg last week, and is much improved, but not altogether well as yet. Walking is still rather difficult for him but it is expected that he will soon be quite well again, Alex. Cochrane left on Wednes day morning for Hartney and other points in southern Manitoba, he expects to be away some three months engaged in municipal auditing. Mrs. Cochrane , and Jimmily are visiting in the east. Mrs. Taylor, of Minnedosa, is visiting her sister, Mrs. A. O rling. T. Wilson's rink got two firsts at the Rapid City bonspiel. T. Creaver, of Humbolt, one of our citizens of a few years ago, is skipping one of the two unbeaten rinks at the Regina bonspiel. Mr. Creaver skipped the Oak River rink that won the Saskatchewan in 1909. ‘The fourth annual seed fair of the Oak River Agricultural So ciety will be held in the new mun icipal hall on Wednesday, Jan. 24th, at 10 am. In connection with the seed fair the directors are introducing a dressed poultry exhibit for which liberal prizes are being offered to encourage the proper preparation of poultry for the market. In the afternoon the judges will address the farmers on subjects of interest immediately after which a class will be formed for a free course of weekly lectures during February and March under direction of the Manitoba Agri cultural College. It is desired that all interested be present and thus,encourage the College to continue and extend the good work they have inaugurated. All are welcome.
