ridthreBUILDING OUTLOOK FOE 1906-BOProspect* for Great Building Boom in Huron During Coming Year VeryBright.Notwitnstanding the great amount of improvement* and new buildings which have been erected in Huron during the past two years, the year 1006 promises to surpass in building activity, any year in the history ef Huron.Every contractor in Huron is today busy making figures on spring work. The number of private residence* which will b€ built is astonishingly large while substantial business improvements in the way of brick blocks, hotels, opera house* and the like will reach nearly a quarter of a million dollars, if all improvements now being plannet for are made. It looks as though there would be much difficulty in obtaining building supplies and labor. Among the proposed new buildings is the opera house and auditorium, the P. B. Lyon block on the corner of Dakota avenue and 4th street, the Sauer-Breen building on Dakota avenue between First and Second and the Eberhart on Second street and the College main building on the campus and the remodeling of the building now occupied for college purposes on the corners of Wisconsin and Third atreeta. Both Will be Completed by July 1stJoe Daum will start the erection of his new building in early spring. The definite location has not yet been ^decided upon, but within two weeks Mr. Daum will know if he can get the lots that he wants. Two corners on Dakota ave. and 4th streets are desirable sites. The dimensions of the new building will be 120 feet wide by 165 feet long. One side of the building will be used as the opera house and will be the same size as lhe present opera honse, and it will contain a small store room and offices. And the auditor! am will occupy the other side, it being seventy feet wide and one hundred and fifty feet long. This large hall will be used for mass meetings, dances and roller skating.The whole structure will be of brick and stone with one large main entrance will open into the two halls.Mr. Daum expects to go to Sioux City and Minneapolis on Monday where he will select his building ma terial.
