An Old Citizen Passes Away.Early Wednesday morning, 15th inst., Philip Hartig, another of Frost-burg’s respected citizens, passed away. He was a native of Hessia, (lerinany, where he was born July (, 1S*J8. lie came to America in 1857, since which time he had been located at Frostburg. He was a miner—a hard working, industrious man, until afflicted with asthma, twelve years ago, when he was compelled to retire from active work. He suffered much but bore his affliction with patience and submission. He was one of the organizers of Salem Reformed Church and to the end was a faithful and consistent member. About two weeks ago his sufferings increased so that, day and night he had voiy little rest, until Wednesday morning, as before wr.tten, he peacefully passed away, aged 07 years, G months and !) da vs. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, 5 sons, J daughters, *J5 grandchildren, and 1 greatgrandchild. He was a good husband, a loving father, a true friend, and a respected citizen. The remains were laid to rest in Allegany cemetery yesterday afternoon, after appropriate services at the Reformed church.
