POPEYEr'CLUBkTho stage entertainment at\ the Popeyo Club meeting held at , the State Theatre last Saturday consisted of a chair-hurdltng contest, a hat-trlmmlng radc and a concert from lhe”Popeyc quartet.Tho chalr-jumplng contest was a one-man affair and Bobby Binck-aon volunteered to try his skill; The object was to get over a row of chairs while blindfolded. Bobby did very well except that someone took away the chairs before he could get to them. However, he went[;thru the motions and was awarded a prize, anyway, VTho hat trimmers made funny hats out of paper plates, string and a flower. The boys won over the girls with Kodnoy Pacini and. JA*. Holzhauser winning the first and second prizes. Mildred Lucille Beebe carried away tho third award.The program coucluded with the quartet singing the Popcye song, and quite an improvement was noted.mP-c-Two features will be on the program for next Saturday's meeting of the club: Burns and Allen In Here Comes Cookie,” and George O'Brien in Thunder Mountain.
