DEATH OF FRED SELLECK.Friday morning January nth, attlie Methodist Hospital in this city occurred the death of Mr. Fred Selieck, who, prior to his illness â– which began a little over a year ago, was tor ten years connected with Spirit of the West as associate editor.Mr. Selieck was sixty-three years old at. the time of his death. His general health had not been of the hest for several years, but not until about One year ago was he obliged to give up his- work. For several months he was confined to bis bed, but during the summer recovered somewhat and gained strength enough to come down occasionally. Some four or five weeks ago lie began to fail and gradually grow worse until the end last Friday.Mr. Selieck was an experienced newspaper worker and writer. He held a position on the Iowa State Register for a number of years, some twenly or more years ago. Later be was secretary of the Commercial Exchange of I his city, and following ihal was for nearly ten years connected with Spirit nf the West. Mr. Selieck was an energetic worker, always at It is dusk and always busy. Ho enjoyed newspaper work and was capable of filling any responsible position in 1 he line of journalism.
