Walsh Finishes His Long Tramp FromGoleo Gate City.John Walsh. ‘’The Great American Tramp,” who started fromSan Francisco October 21 to breakthe walking record from that pointclocThe American office.He had completed the tramp inactual walking time of the seventv-four days. For thirteen hours hewas laid up in the City Hospital atJohnstown, Pa., with pneumonia,but on release immediately resumedthe long grind.Walsh tramped across the continent, 6,640 miles, breaking the re-cord for speed between the twoj points. Last night he went through New Brunswick, N. J., afterhaving spent the previous, night at Franklin Park, seven miles fromPrincetonWhen Walsh arrived at the NewJersey shore and th^ captain ofthe Pennsylvania ferryboat Pittsburg learned what he was, extraspeed was granted by the officials,and the boat made the fastestcareer. The pedestrianlanded at the City Hall Manhattan, at five seconds to twelve lastnight.
