BOONE COUNTY.Thorntown.—We have had a temper* ance zephyr here—the first for over a decade. J. W. Pierce lit in upon us Christmas evening, with stereoptioan and blue ribbon. He did the saloons and some club rooms, incognito. He could “a tale unfold.” The meetings were held in the M. E. church. Well attended. Several hnndred signed the pledge. A law and order league was organized. We may now hope that our saloons will fall in line and our Tammany ring will be busted. Brother Levi Rees said, “We have not done any thing for temperance for ten years.” (We” said amen!) Bro. James Williamson said, “It is time ‘we’ were doing something; something must be done” (We said amen and amen! Look out for the breeze. Hopefully, L. M. Crist.
