Sylvia Martinez and Bobby Cortez were named girl and boy of the month by the Junior GI Forum at its Janu ary meeting. Sylvia is the 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Martinez and is a freshman in Ballinger High School. She has also been named Miss Ballinger to be a candidate in the queen’s race to be held in San Antonio in July. Bobby, also 17, is the son of Mrs. Betty Cortez and the late Felix Cortez. He is a junior in Ballinger High School and is treasurer of the forum. Paul Jalomo was elected senior of the year by the junior forum members. He is employed at the T. P Abilene Southern Railroad.
