A WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS TO HAVe HIM RELEASED. It is Alleged That He Has Been Cur ed and His Fellow Employer Want Him Back—The Petition Will Likely Be Resisted. A writ of habeas corpus was applied for Monday by A. A. Young, on the part of Garrett Luteman, who is now conrned in the insane asylum to have the latter released from custody. Luteman some years ago killed William Foley and badly wounded W. W. Carder at Oldtown. He was tried and adjudged insane and committed to the asylum. About one year ago he escaped and went to work at Scottdale, Pa., for Kenny Co., manufacturers of iron. Mr. W. W. Carder lodged complaint with the county commissioners and Luteman was brought back here and again incarcerated after having been out of the asylum a year. It is said that he is cured. His former employers at Scottdale have petitioned to have him returned to their plant to go to work again. The petition is signed by 100 names. It is understood that the attempt to have him released will be strongly resisted.
