Clifton Branch Library expands hoursThe Clifton Branch Library is now open one hour earlier from Monday through Thursday. New hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m.: Wednesday from 12noon to 5:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5 30 p.m.. closed Sunday.There has been a branch library in Clifton since it opened at 351 Ludlow Ave. on January 19, 1954. It expanded to two storefronts in 1962. and was remodeled in 1971. The branchhas the distinction of having the longest running book club, where avid readers and staff have been meeting on tH second Wednesday of each month at 10:3Cf a.m. since 1969. It also hosts a preschool storytime every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for children ages 3-5.Last year the branch circulated 149.585 books and other items, and year-to-date circulation is up 6°o over 1996.
