Continuing the series of pictures and stories about Will county men and women who guide Extension activities through Will County Agricultural and Home Economics Extension Councils, this week’s article presents George A. Beutel and Mrs. N. S. Bokan, both of Joliet. Beutel operates an agriculture and grain trucking business in rural Joliet. He is a member of Will County Farm Bureau and for 10 years has taken part in Joliet Township High school and Junior college Farmers Short Course. He is a volunteer fire depart ment member in Troy and belongs to Holy Name society and Ushers club at St. John’s Catholic church, Joliet. His wife, Eleanore, is active in Homemakers’ Extension Association. The Reutels have three children, ages 4 to 10. Mrs. Bokan, craft chairman for Home Economics Extension Association, contributes her time and knowledge to craft classes at Riverside center for senior citizens and thus uses her hobbies of knitting, sewing, flower making and other skills to considerable advantage. She and her husband, who is retired, have two sons and two daughters, all married, and enjoy keeping track of their 12 grand children and two great grand children. Mrs. Bokan serves as president of American Legion auxiliary and also belongs to Pocahontas Rebekah lodge No. 59 of 100F, Mothers of World War II and Royal Neighbors of America. She is a member of St. Sara’s church and its woman’s auxiliary.
