Kelly Field Cadet Is Killed In CrashSAN ANTONIO——Flying Cadet Ferrell D. Hooks, 22-year-old Kelly Field student, was killed instantly Saturday when the BT-2 bas-ic training plane he was piloting bymeans of instruments under a blindflying” hood, suddenly went into a vertical dive, catapulted the instructor out of the «hip and crashed ten miles south of here.First Lieut. Laurence B Kelley, the instructor, who was r.ding in the rear cockpit where a dual set of controls was located, pulled the ripcord of his parachute after he wasthrown out and landed uiu-jured.
