NOT A VAST NUGGET OF GOLD, jArizona Territory is not a vast 1 nugget of gold, but “Dick” Chilson * —the Anahoim Gazette says—has I written from Casa Grande, in that 1Territory, at follows: “I have struck ' four feet of gold ore that will go ! $i,ooa*to the ton. I took out $300 worth of gold dust with my pocket knife. I have ' got 1 two twenty-five pound boxes full of gold dust, worth about $3,000; have got nuggets of gold, pure gold, as large as birds’ eggs. I sunk nine feet on the ledge, and took out tentons before I noticed the gold, and,therefore, blasted away several thousand dollars. I have $lt;;o,ooo in sight The country is crazy over it. There are clusters oCgold as big as dollars sticking all tnrough the ledge. There has been a sale made of one mine near me for $300,000; another sold four miles from me for $20,000,I decline f i6,oqo for mine.”r ♦
