The Curry County Grand Jury Friday returned an in dictment of murder in the first degree against Dumas Joe ‘Boots’ Inman, 63, of Portales and Muleshoe, for the slaying of Elizabeth Ann Inman, 44, or 708's N. Prince Mrs. Inman was found near a vacant building a few feet from the curb at Eighth and Prince streets Monday, Dec. 18, 1978 She had been shot twice, once in the stomach and once in the back, and was pronounced dead on arrival at Clovis High Plains Hospital Inman was arrested later that night on Kakawate Road by the Curry County Sheriff's Department and charged with the crime. Other indictments handed down by the grand jury were: Lehl and Paul Sparks, 24, of 1419 Prince, for aggravated burglary, commercial burglary, and larceny of firearms; Gerald D. Carby of 209 Sandia, for burglary of a motor vehicle; Letha Wiggins of Texico, for issuing a worthless check. Other district court action (See INDICTMENT, Page 2)
