The pro-1 gram opens with “Curtain Raiser” in which she portrays Columbine, Harlequin and Pierrot; followed by a classical dance of the romantic era; “La Grande Performance,” a parody on a ballet dancer of the Degas era; “gossip,” a tri-character short story; a wild Slavonic Dance; a Turkish Fairy Tale to ethnic music. The final offering is “Come Back Vaudeville,” in which Miss Becket portrays five characters from the “Old Days” as they audition for a dreamy agent who is determined to bring back yesterday. This selection exemplifies Mis Becket’s unique concert presentation in which she portrays many different characters in one dance mimic through quick change of props, costumes, and style.Miss Becket has been several times blessed with talent; a knowledge of art and music and a lively imagination which enables her to create the stories and choreographies of her dance-mimes, design the costumes and stage decor. One of the most outstanding facts of her creative work is that she portrays as many as nine different' characters in the same ballet through the use of masks, “sleight of hand” costume changes and special lighting.Marta Becket is endowed with many gifts which she has concentrated in a program of the highest calibre of taste and presentation. As a performer she has been consistently praised by sponsors and audiences alike. For her achievements as an artist Miss Becket has been honored by being sketched in the current (fourth) edition of “Who’s Who of American Women.”
