Stientra, former government farmer at this place has been appointed superintendent of the Indian Agency, at Grand Rapids, Wis. This a newly created office and Mr. SticnstraN work will cover a large part of the state. The Winnebago Indian* are scattered all over the state and to act in thecapacity of Indian agent, that is, to takecare of the tribal funds and matters that may arise in his work. In Februaiy of last year Congress appropriated $510,000, which amount was to be used in buying farms for the Winnebago Indians. He has many friends here who arc pleased to learn of his progiess.
