Hock and railing for $1.25 to $5.25 and passing It at the I. W. Murphy store, at Octa. and is baid to be the aame youth who passed a worthless check on Acton Brothers of Milledgeville on Saturday morning I January 4th, and also passing a bad check for $6 on F M I’almer of this ci#y. This was on Dec. 24, and the deception was not discovered until a few days ago when the check reached the Milledge-ville bank.Buttles denies raising the check, and says Murphy gave him too much J money, and that he did not eare to return It.On the morning he la supposed to have passed the forged check on Acton Brothers he claims that he came to this city on the tralu, remained over night with Frank Frvin, returned home the next day, going from there to Cincinnati the following day and remained there until Friday, when he returned to Sabina, and from thence home.It Is said that the young man has been in trouble In Sabina, and that he was arrested there once for the th*-ft of some rubber boots which he cut up and sold for old rubber, and that upon another occasion he was charged with the theft of chickens, in the arrest of Buttles the authorities believe they have a really troublesome character, and one who was rapidly developing Into an all round crook.citttilt;I1JitI(ii!1I
