The wedding nuptials of Mr. Samuel Faria, so* of Mr. James Farts, of the Scotch Settlement, and Miss Etta Louisa Orton, wore celebrated on the 30th ult., i at the residence of the bride’s parents j in this village, the ceremony being per-* formed by Rev. F.. Smith, of the Presbyterian church. The interesting event ras witnessed by about forty of the near relatives of the happy couple. The bride who looked charming in her dress of brown idik, was supported by Miss Ida Faris, sister of the groom, and Mr. Erwin Watson acted as groomsman. After the wedding supper, a few hours were pleasantly wiled away, when the bride and grouni left for their home in the Scotch Settlement to begin farm life to gether. The presents were numerous, beautiful and costly, amply testifying to the popularity of the contracting parties. Ou Wednesday evening of last week, a reception iu honor of the event was held at the residence of Mr. A. Orton, when a number of intimate friends had the pleasure of spending a very interesting evening in the company of Mr. and Mrs. -S. Faria. During the evening the town band serenaded the couple and were generously received.
