Josephine Ann Polach, 93, Harrisonville, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Benchmark Healthcare of Harrisonville. She was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Hays to Peter and Elizabeth (Meier) Bol lig. She was raised on a farm on the Saline River between Hays and Plainville, and was a graduate of Plain ville High School. She married Joseph Polach on July 15, 1940. He preced ed her in death. They moved to Junction City, where they resided until moving to Har risonville in 2010. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church and Ladies Alter Society Circle No. 2, Junction City, and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville. She enjoyed taking care of her home, family,and being a Brownie Scout leader. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Stein and husband, Robert, Garden City, Mo.; a brother, Alfred Bollig, Dalhart, Texas; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and nine brothers. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Xavier Catho lic Church, Junction City, burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Ivy Emma Bell (Thiesen) Rolland Ivy Emma Bell (Thiesen) Rolland, 99, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Norton County Hospital, Norton. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Norton Christian Church; burial in Norton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. ‘Tuesday at Enfield Funeral Home, Norton. Bonita Rose ‘Bonnie’ Jensen Bonita Rose “Bonnie” Jensen, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Hays Medical Center. She was born July 7, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo., to Thomas and Geneva (Stearns) Byerley. She gradu ated from Rosedale High School and Bethany School of Nurs ing, both of Kansas City, Kan. She attended Fort Hays State Uni versity. She mar ried Harold C. Jensen on Jan. 26, 1947, in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death Sept. 7, 2001. She worked at Hays hospitals, St. Anthony’s and Hadley Medical Center and Hays Medical Center until retirement in 1995. She joined the U.S. Army Cadet Nurse Corps in 1943 and was discharged in 1946. She was a member of Hays R.N. Club since 1947. She was past president of District 16, Kansas Nurses Association, and past board member of the Kansas State Nurses Association. She was a life member of the Ameri can Nurses Association. She was Past Noble Grand Victory Rebekah Lodge 166 of Hays, and received the Decoration of Chivalry from the Sovereign Grand Lodge, Topeka. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary No. 9076, former 4-H sewing leader of the Buckeye Jr. Farmers, past president of the Buckeye Community Club, and was a member of S.O.S. (Sisters of Survivor ship.) She volunteered at the A.R.C. from 1990 to 2010. She enjoyed working on ge nealogy and sharing the infor mation with families, worked on crossword puzzles every day and loved taking pictures of her friends and sharing them, as well as writing letters to friends and family. Survivors include two sons,Thomas Andrew Jensen and wife, Linda, Piper, and Raymond Harold Jensen and friend, Julie Lochmann, Hays; two daughters, Patricia Ann Weimer and husband, Kenneth, Columbus, Ohio, and Kay Ellen Funk and husband, Dale, Newton; a brother, Marvin Byerley and wife, Billie, Kansas City; five sister-in-laws, Maria Byerley, Hinesville, Ga., Marguerite Byerley, Mission, Eileen Jensen, Goldie Jensen and Virginia Linenberger, all of Hays, and Rossie Morgan, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Robert Prock ish, Stockton; eight grand children, Michael Ray Jensen and wife, Amy, Hays, Ken neth Andrew Weimer and wife, Maia, Chicago, Mat thew Weimer and wife,Te resa, Calgary, Canada, Amy Jo Wiemer, Columbus, Ohio, Weston Jensen, Hawaii, Ryan Jensen, Lawrence, Rose Kama and Dr. Bill Kama, Hilo, Hawaii, and Jeremy Wann, Grand Island, Neb.; and 10 great-grandchildren, Elissa and Ethan Jensen, Ci dnye and Miles Weimer, Arlie Jay Kama, Jada, Sophi and Aubin Weimer, and Mysteri and Genesis Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Rowland Dale Byerley and Thomas James Byerley. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hays Memo rial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, burial in Fort Hays Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. ,Tuesday and from 4 to 6 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, both at the funeral home.
