The police, ‘who were ‘called ’ follow ing the discovery of the’ theft, found that..an attempt. hid. be ‘made to “jimmy” “a rear _window “Cole said; that Rockwell. “Rhodes. one well known local character, left the place with him when he closed to go to lunch. Rhodes was arrested and cross-examined, without finding any thing incriminating any more ‘than ‘a red spot on’ the right shoulder of the accused ,which the police say might have been made in forcing the rear door. Rhodes is being retained by the police until a thorough investiga tion is made.
