January s. , After adopting by-laws and dis- j posing of other important preliminaries, they elected a board of directors consisting of the following named |Mrsons: MaxKirclnnan. John GreonWuld, Jos.E. Smith, and Win. G. Hummel. ' of Socorro, and F. J. Sistek. Robert L. Pitte. ami Alexander ; Purer, of Chicago.At the clone of the stockholders meeting, the directors at once elected the following named of- ' ficers: President, F. J Sistek. First Vice-President, JohnGreen-wald; Second Vice-President, Jos. E. Smith; Secretary, Max Kirchmun; Treasurer. Robert L. Pitte; Financial Secretary. Win, G. Ham me 1; General .Manager. Mas Kirclnnan. with offi. lt;at Socorro; Purchasing and Emigration Agent. Alexander Purer, with office at Chicago This body of officers is well chosen and will in itself go a long way towards assuring the success of the association’s large undertaking. The Socorro gentlemen are all of good character and business lt;|ualilications. In fact, they are among the best that Socorro has to offer, and the association should congratulate’ itself upon securing their services. The Chicago gentlemen, also, are reputed to be of high integrity and good business standing.Mr. Kirchman. being general manager, and having his office in Socorro, will, of course, now remain in the city. It will gratifying to everybody here to see him carry his colonization enterprise to a successful issue. | To use his own language, lie | expects to get and keep bust.The idea of having a permanent purchasing and emigration agent with his office in Chicago was a happy one. This will facilitate matters and insure the prompt dispatch of all business of the association in one of its most important lines. Mr. Purer is reported to be a master of bis trade, having been in the farm land and emigration business for more than twenty-five years, and that verv successfully.Robert E. Pitte is a Chicago hanker and real estate dealer of considerable wealth and considerable prominence among the Bohemians of the country. He . enjoys the unlimited confidence- of American Bohemians everywhere. There is no need of» further assurance that Mr. Pitte . is the right man in the right I place.F. J. Sistek is a member of the Pilsen Brewing Company I of Chicago, and has a pretty : thorough knowledge of the brew-• ing business. He is so much i taken with the Gem Citv that it he could have his wish gratified j he would remain here, lie as-- sures his Socorro friends, however. that he will probably locate1 here in the near future.
