Now thereviews are out, and listen tothis:From Rolling Stone: more than any mere collection of goodtime cuts...a celebration of the spirit of rock and roll, pounded home as straight and true as an ar row... Loaded also shows offsome of the incredible finesse that Lou Reed has developed overthe years as a songwriter...avocal performance which would put Mick Jagger to shame, You know those were different times, The poets they studied rules of verse. And the ladies they rolled their eyes. You can talk all youwant about your rock poets, but I can't think of many who could come close to matching that...somuch variety...Sterling Morrison's lead guitar is unerringlygood (especially on the rave-upwithin Oh, Sweet Nuthin')....easily one of the best albums toshow up this or any year.From Rock: the Velvet Underground has always been an ingenious, powerful, and artistically autonomous unit...On Loaded, the fourth album (butthe first on a supportive label),the Velvets (are) majesticallypowerful, fundamental, raw, often almost wistful beneath their cynicism...It is primarily Reed's genius that moves the music...a great rock band in the classic style...hearing the Velvet Underground was an exhilerating shock...
