George Covert, a 16-year-old Nampa High School junior and a Future Farmers of America Chapter Farmer, is *what you might call a tractor and plow sort of farmer. For his project this past summer and fall, he planted seven acres of sugar beets, from which he grossed in the neighborhood of $2,275. In addition to this, he also sold four Duroc gifts. Next summer, George is hoping to rent 40 acres of land in which to plant corn, in a joint FFA project along with three other members of the Nampa chapter. He is chairman of the Supervised Farming committee in th c chapter, a group that is responsible for the eight acre farm that is worked by members of the FFA chapter.
