Sculpture Exhibit Shown In Carr“Sculpture Through the Ages, a display of small sculptured objects which was collected through the joint efforts of the Middlebury Art Department. Williams College, the Shelburne Museum, and the Fleming Museum of the University of Vermont, is currently on display in Carr Hall.The sculptures shown are pieces which date from primitive times through the present day. Among the pieces are several early 19th century weather vanes, two Aztec pieces—a mask and a stone figurine of the “God of Flowers,” a Maillol bronze “Leda” and a 12th century Romanesque capital from France. Several modem sculptures, including two pieces by Vermont artists, a “Crucifix” by Paul Aschenback and a “Centaur” by Miguel Gusils of Middlebury, are also displayed.
