O'DONNELL, Jan. 11. (Special —Sgt. Emmett Parker, 25 former ly of the Newmoore community west of O'Donnell, has been miss ing in action in Korea since Nov. 29. His wife and baby are resi dents of Lamesa and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Parker, live at Newmoore. In a letter dated Nov. 20, We wrote that he was the leader of a group of South Korean soldiers then at the Manchurian border awaiting orders. He was with the Second division and in September had been awarded the Silver Star medal for distinguished service in action. Parker entered the Army in 1943 and saw service in the South Pacific in World War II. He was discharged early in 1946, but re - enlisted and was sent to Italy. There, in January, 1948, he was married to Edi Pressler, a native of that country. His wife joined him in the States in November, 1948, and she and their child made their home with Parker's parents at Newmoore until moving to La mesa recently. Two other sons of the Parkers are in the Army. One of them, Cpl. L. D. Parker, 20, was in Ko rea when last heard from Dec. %.
