PT, PLEASANT STILL CONTESTING ELECTION.Between the working of Isaac Carmichael, and Frederick S. Wack, of Point Pleas ant, joint attorneys forCaptain James M. VanNote, the case of the last against Chester W. Clayton, at present the holder .of the Mayor's chair of Point Pleasant, is | rounding into form for the fight in the courts, which Captain VanNote is determined to wage against Clayton in order to prove himself legally elected mayor of PointhPieasant. At the election Clayton was counted the vietor by one vote. Van Note charged that he was not legally elected and opened several cases tilth indirect bearing on the mayorality fight results. These comprise a case against Councilman Thomas Ferguson for attempted bribery, and otner of illegal voting against six of Point Pleasant voters. Neither of the last two grand juries would return an Indictment in these cases, but the captain intends to carry them before the next body. The case 'against Clayton is now to be taken up under quo wananto proceedings In the Supreme Court, according to his own statement.
