Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Myers, of Defi ance, gave us a pleasant call Saturday. The trustees were all present at the last regular meeting. John Limber, of Ayersville, took dinner with us Sunday. Misses Lena Garber, Cora Kimberly, Cynthia Cook and Maude Hall, called on Mr. Shriner’s Friday evening. They had a splendid time, being highly entertained by all. Miss Hall having resigned her posi tion here as teacher, Miss Laura Lim ber took charge of the school Monday. We had no vacation in the school room during the holidays as we were delayed at the beginning on account of diptheria. Laura Rex was kept from school Tuesday on account of sickness. Dr. E. E. K. Chapman was present at Sabbath school Sunday. We will try and relate to you a good story on Dr. Chapman. Sunday morn ing he arose and started for the blome a little after three o’clock, hoping and expecting to find the Superintendent and all securely wrapped in the arms of Morpheus. But alas! How greatly he was astonished when he arrived here and found breakfast over and the work all done and all were in Sabbath school and the first hymn was being sung. The doctor was obliged to sit down to breakfast alone. He said he “was not aware that we were in the habit of getting up so early in the morning.”
