The Cast For “It's A Date Selected, Show Jan. 19 and 20Rehearsals are underway for the local talent show, “It's A Date”, the play is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary for the benefit of the Rehabilitation Program, and is under the direction of Miss Helen Cecilia Terry of Chicago.The cast includes about 100 people who impersonate famous radio personalities, mythical characters including Hubert Horcher in the roxe of Santa Claus and Mrs. Amalia Bolie who will portray his wife. Little Frederick Vogel will appear as Santa Claus, Jr.The two leads in the show wi.a be taken by Miss Carol Stouc and Russel Haberlah who aiv cast as Ginger Jones and Jo ^ Brown, a typical American boy and girl in love, but cannot decide on the wedding date. They discuss the various months as the show progresses giving a wide variety of entertainment including music and comedy. Bill Stock takes the part of Eddie Cantor In the “Take It Or Leave It” radio show impersonation. Members of the audience will participate and choose the categories they will use when they compete for valuable prizes.The Labor Daze scene using an all male chorus includes Herbert Schueler as Fanny the Farmers’ daughter, Harvey Buettner will portray Winnie The Waitress from Wellsburg and Marvin Bergmann the Million Dollar Baby from the Five and Ten Cent store. Walter lHabermehl dresses as Tillie the j Tenth Grade Teacher and Otto ' Salger consents to be a baby-sitter ! by the name of Bessie. Clarence {Schueler impersonates Rosie the Queen of the Runway. These men do a special dance routine to the accompanirr)'1^: of*Jot ai a ket e lids.One of the outstanding scenes is (an impersonation of the Breakfast {Club program with Leo A. Weil-; bacher, Jr., taking the part of Don i • McNeil the toastmaster. Miss Mary ! Lee Haller will have the singing role of Patsy Lee and Millard jMundinger will be featured as ; Johnny Desmond. The comedy j character of the talkative Aunt J Fanny will be taken by Mrs. Irene ■ Haberl.{ As yet the cast lacks some of the Minstrel Characters but hope is expressed to find Mr. Interlocutor, the only white face character in this scene, and Mr. Rastus and Mr. Rufus. Marvin Bergmann is taking the part of Mr. Hambone : while Millard Mundinger imper-sonates Mr. Sambo.I William Schueler has accepted I the part of Mr. Gott Rocks, thePresident of the Alumni of the Boola Boola College.After a discussion of the various months in which they might set their wedding date the two leads, Miss Stout and Mr. Haberlah go to visit a relative of an old time showboat. It is during the Minstrel Scene that the climax is reached and together they make . the announcement “Tomorrow Morning is Their Wedding Day” land the entire group joins in on jthe colorful celebration of this finale number.j The play will be held in the 'Columbia high school auditorium !on Thursday and Friday night, January 19 and 20th.
