Islands relief ship damaged in mishapLISBON—The Channel IslantU relief ship, the Swedish Vega, limped into Tagua yesterday with damage to her bottom caused through misberthing at Guernsey. She is going into drydock for repairs.At the moment the” inlanders are not so badly off as were some of the French population under German occupation, but within a few weeks their plight may be wor3e, especially if the Vega is not repaired in time, according to British Red Cross authorities.Among things the islanders lnck-ed were fats, salt, soap and diesel oil to work cranes.The Vega discharged one third of her cargo of food supplies at Guernsey and two thirds at Jersey. 2ol.
