DEATH OF W. K. SAXTONOld Soldier Passed Away at StrfteHospitalOn Thursday of last week the community was shocked to learn of the death of W. K. Saxton, an old soldier of the Civil war, who had resided in Oxford during the greater part of his life. Mr, Saxton had been in poor health for some time past, aii i about two months ago had been removed to the state hospital for treatment, Although his illness was generally known, his critical condition was not even suspected by any except his near relatives, and his death shocked as well as grieved the greater part of the community.The funeral was held at the M. E. church in Oxford Saturday, Jan-j nary 6. The members of the Masonic lodge, of which the deceased was a member, attended the funeral in a body, as did the Relief Corps and the several Old Soldiers of Oxford and vicinity. ^The Old Soldiers from out of town who were present for the services were S. C. Jones, A. Fisher, Geo. Brown and T. D. Davis of Iowa City; J. H. Work of Tiffin; J. Wymer of Marengo. An old confederate soldier, J. Mabe, i was also present and attended the servicea with the men who wore the blue. *
