Short this year, 1234Or tr. age ix Greensville County.—A correspondent of the South Side Democrat gives the followidg account of a brutal outrage perpetrated near llicksford on the night of the 1st.hist:A party of men. some four or five in num-| her, with their faces disguised, went to the house of a defenceless white woman of rather loose character : broke open her house, tied her daughter and herself, dragged her out of doors, over a fence to an old field; then stripped her perfectly naked, and then (to their shame be it said), beat her most unmercifully. On the following day, she came to llicksford, made complaint before a magistrate, who forthwith, ordered their arrest.Four men were arrested on suspicion, and brought before their Honors, John \Y. Potts and 0. A.
