Brown in Brownsdale was the scene of a very pretty double wedding last Wednesday evening, Jan. 3, 1S00, when Lewis W. Powers and Miss Winnifred L, Biown were united in marriage and at the same time William C. Marsh and Miss Lizzie Powers were made husband and wife. They stood during the ceremony beneath an arch of flowers and green. About forty guests were present. Little DewittJHolbrook of Minneapolis served as page and his sister, Adallne, served as maid of honor. They bore baskets of flowers containing the wedding rings. The wedding march was played by Jud IT. Thompson. Rev- C. D. Belden of Austin officiated. After hearty congratulations a bountiful wedding supper was enjoyed, and the evening was spent socially. The wedding gifts were numerous and very beautiful. Mr. Powers is the buttermaker of the Brownsdale creamery and Is a young man of high convictions and Irreproachable character. His bride Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Brown. She completed her education at the Minneapolis high school and has taught in this county with success. She has a large circle of warm friends. Mr. Marsh is the proprietor of the Fort Dodge Fruit and Poultry Farm and is highly spoken of. He has won a most worthy bride. Mr. and Mrs. Powers have gone to housekeeping at Brownsdale. Mr. and Mrs. Marsh will reside near Fort Dodge. Among the guests present were Mr. Lake Shore and Miss Littie Trescott or Plainfield. Iowa, and Mrs. C. D.Holbrook of Minneapolis. -
