j The Commissioners to locate the new ■ Hudson River Insane Ayshim, says the Journal, met in Newburgh Thursday evening of last week, for the purpose of deciding upon a site to be recemmended to the Legislature. Parties from Hudson were present with a liberal offer ; and Mayor Clark, J, C. Adams, and Thomas George, of the Newburgh Committee, were present and offered fifty thousand dollars towards the purchase of Plum Point*With this last offer the Commisaioners were prepared to cloee, as itwa* the most liberal which they had received, tnd the site was in many respects superior to any other. But about half-past nice a committee of Poughkeepeians arrived, who were prepared to and did make an offer of eighty-five thousand dollars—the site offered being a piece of property known as the Roosevelt Place, about two miles out of Poughkeepsie This being beyond anything previously before them, the Commissioners had no alternative but to accept, which they did.CORONER'S INQUEST.Hornner Rlnal »u .Tariitarr 1 T k
