Survivors: Sons, Paul, Larry; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. George Mayiand Pierson, 90, a former commander for the U.S. Navy, died Dec. 28, 2002, of causes yet to be determined. Survivors: Wife, Virginia; son, Greg. Donald Adrian Tisdale, 84, an Army lieutenant colonel, died Dec. 31, 2002, of cancer. Services have been held. Survivors: Son, Richard Merriam; brothers, Robert, James; sister, Virginia Wiseman; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
