HENRY JOIfN B IRK MANNPAULLINA — Henry JohnBirk-marni, son of August and Marie Birkmann, was born on March 1, 1884 in Franklin County, Missouri, and died Iec. 21, 1968 at Cherokee, la., at the age of 84 years, nine months and 20 days.He spent his youth and attended school in the county of his birth. On July 7, 1912, he was married to Rose hock in LLe ^une county. In 1919, tlie couple moved to the Paullina area where they had since lived.Survivors are the wife, Rose, of Paullina; one son, Kenneth Birk-mann of Larrabee. One brother, Fd Birkmann of New Haven, Mo., and three sisters, Anna Emde of Cave Creek, Aria., Mrs. Walter (Hilda) Bockelman of Sioux Falls, S. D., and Mrs. Joe (Dorothy) Mossman of Washington, Mo., also survive.His parents and one brother preceded him in death.He was a member of Paullina Zion Lutheran Church.A family prayer service preceded funeral services at Zion Lutheran Church on Dec. 26 with Rev. Melvin Thur officiating. Mrs. Jim Meyer, soloist, was accompanied by Mrs. Marvin Fin-tel as she sang Abide with Me.Burial under direction of Sanborn Funeral Home was in Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina where Arthur FIntel, Walter Massman, William McCleerey, Alfred Mertens, Reinhart Massman and Marvin Fintel were pallbearers.
