Funeral rites for C. Marvin Tidwell, 77, were held in the First United Methodist Church in Iredell at 2 p.m. Jan. 2, with the Rev. George Geebon of Fer ris, officiating, assisted by the Rev. John Hutcheson, local Methodist pastor. He died in a Stephenville hos pital Dec. 31, after an illness of some six weeks. Born May 28, 1891, near Waco, Tidwell had lived here some 15 years where he served as nurse for about three years before being named Justice of the Peace, a position he continued to hold until his death. Before coming to Glen Rose, he served as a state game war den in Hamilton and Bosque Counties and at Bay City for 17 years, and then spent 10 years in Big Spring where he operat eg grocery for two years be fore accepting employment as a nurse in the Veterans Hospital there for eight years. Survivors include his wife of this city, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Parks of Iredell. Burial was made in the Ire dell Cemetery under direction at Reynolds Funeral Home of this city. Pallbearers were: Howard Myers, Albert Polnac, Al Pierson, Ewell Thompson, Bill Helm and Albert Pike.
